Point of Sale (POS) Overview
Retail moves fast. The Point of Sale (POS) app in Sevenledger is built to keep up. It transforms your computer or tablet into a powerful checkout terminal, allowing you to ring up sales, manage multiple store locations, and track cash shifts without missing a beat.
Unlike standalone POS systems, this app is fully integrated with your Accounting and Inventory. Every sale you make at the counter automatically updates your stock levels and records the revenue in your financial ledger.
1. The Terminal (Front Counter)
This is the heart of your retail operation—the interface your cashiers use every day. It is designed for speed, touch-screens, and efficiency.
- Start Session: Open a shift for a specific store location (e.g., “Sankhamul Store”).
- Checkout: Add items, apply discounts, and process payments (Cash, Wallet, QR) in seconds.
- Receipts: Generate instant thermal prints for your customers.
2. Sales History & Management
The POS app doesn’t just record sales; it keeps a detailed history of every transaction. You can review past activity without needing to dive into the full Accounting app.
- Orders: View a list of all confirmed sales orders generated from the POS.
- Invoices: Access the official tax invoices created for each sale.
- Payments: Track exactly how money came in—whether by Cash, Cheque, or Bank Transfer.
3. Inventory & Items
You can’t sell what you don’t have. The POS app gives you direct access to your product catalog, allowing you to manage pricing and availability specifically for your retail outlets.
- Items: Manage the products available for sale in the terminal.
- Stock Visibility: Check availability across different warehouses directly from the item list.
4. Configuration & Setup
The Configurations section is the “Control Room” for your retail chain. This is where you define where you sell and who can sell.
- Stores: Create distinct locations (e.g., “Baneshwor Store” vs “Main Warehouse”) and link them to specific inventory sources.
- Payment Settings: Map your POS buttons (e.g., “Fonepay”) to your actual Bank Ledgers to ensure your accounting is automated.
- Staff Access: Assign specific cashiers to specific stores to control security.
5. Reports
Understand your store’s performance at a glance. The Reports section provides retail-specific insights, such as end-of-day sales summaries and cashier performance.
