Data is useless if you can’t understand it. The Reports module in Sevenledger transforms your daily clicks—every invoice, bill, and expense—into actionable insights.
Whether you need a high-level overview for a bank loan application or a granular breakdown of which product is driving the most revenue, these reports give you the visibility you need to make smarter decisions.
Generating a Report
Every report starts with a question: “What happened during this specific time?”
To generate a report, click the Customize Report button found at the top left of any report screen.
- Select Date Range: Choose the specific period you want to analyze. Sevenledger supports the Nepali date system (e.g.,
2082-04-01to2083-03-32), ensuring your financial years align with local tax regulations. - Generate: Click to refresh the data based on your selection.
Financial Statements
These are the “Big Three” reports that tell you the overall health of your business.
1. Profit & Loss (Income Statement)
This report answers the question: “Are we making money?”
- Operating Income: Shows your total Sales revenue.
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): Deducts the direct cost of the products you sold to calculate your Gross Profit.
- Operating Expenses: Lists operational costs like “Meals and Entertainment” or “Delivery Charges”.
- Net Profit/Loss: The final bottom line—your actual profit after all costs.
2. Balance Sheet
This report shows your financial position at a single point in time: “What do we own, and what do we owe?”
- Assets: Includes your Stock inventory value, Accounts Receivable (money customers owe you), and liquid cash in Bank/Cash accounts.
- Liabilities: Shows debts like Accounts Payable (money you owe vendors) and current liabilities.
3. Trial Balance
Used primarily by accountants, this lists the closing balances of every single ledger account to ensure Debits equal Credits. It is the starting point for end-of-year audits.
Sales & Performance Reports
Drill down into what drives your revenue.
Sales by Item
Identify your best-sellers and your slow movers.
- Columns: Displays Quantity Sold, Average Price, and Total Amount.

Sales by Customer
See exactly who your top clients are. This report ranks customers by Gross Sales, helping you identify VIP clients who might deserve a holiday discount.
Expense by Category
A simple pie-chart style breakdown of where your money is going (e.g., “Meals and Entertainment” vs. “Ecommerce Delivery”).
Audit & Detail Reports
Day Book
The Day Book is a chronological log of every single financial event entered into the system for a specific day.
- It lists Invoices, Payments Received, Bills, and Journals in order.
- Use this to double-check your daily data entry before closing up shop.
General Ledger Report
The most detailed report available. It shows the complete history of every transaction for every account (Debit, Credit, and Running Balance). Use this when you need to investigate exactly why an account balance is what it is.
Exporting Your Data
Need to send this to your auditor or analyze it in Excel?
- Print: Generates a printer-friendly version of the current view.
- Download: Exports the raw data (CSV/Excel) for external processing.
Pro Tip: If you see negative numbers in your Cash or Inventory assets on the Balance Sheet, check your Day Book. You likely recorded a payment or shipment before recording the initial deposit or purchase!
